Examinations
Examinations are given at the end of every part of
the course materials sent to students. Experience has shown that
students need to study their course materials severally and severely
to have a total grip and understanding of the course materials.
Taking for granted that the question is at the end of course
materials has always ended the students with poor result at the
examination. This is why we urge our students to ensure that they are
very conversant with their course materials, and have total
understanding of recommended books before writing the examination.
When situation demands it, we offer online
examination facility.
Examination result is given as in the following
categories,
Total obtainable mark for each subject is 100,
i.e. 100% while the minimum obtainable mark is 50, i.e. 50%.
40 – 50 = P, Pass,
51 – 60 C, Credit,
61 – 70 B, Merit,
71 – 100 A, Distinction
The final summary of examinations result for the
issue of Certificate,
Associate degree,
Bachelor degree,
Master degree,
Doctorate degree is classified as follows;
40% = Ordinary Pass ,
41% to 50% = Third Class Lower
51% to 60% = Third Class Upper
61% to 70% = Second Class Lower
71% to 80% = Second Class Upper
81% to 90% = First Class Lower
91% to 100 = First Class Upper.
The university honors First Class Lower and First
Class Upper students with Distinctions & Merit Certificate for their
exemplary performance.
