College of Information Technology

Information technology refers to the collection of tools that make it easier to use, create, manage and exchange information. The Internet is the latest of a long series of information technologies, which includes printing, mail, radio, television and the telephone.

The course comprises three parts. The first provides an overview of the current state of information technology, and more importantly, its use for and by business. The second examines the directions which these technologies are being extended, and the potential directions in which they may be developed. The third considers the strategic applications of IT for future business practice. Student are expected to develop cutting edge expertise by the end of the course. Evaluation is based on two projects (50%), individual assignments (50%) The key requirements for success in the course is a significant interest in IT, a willingness to think beyond traditional boundaries, and an ability to live with the uncertainty of business problems with no textbook solutions.

Our IT students are given practical assignments, which they are encourage to complete and send to the university. They will learn the application tools, under design, which include resources, journals, tips, wonk and guide, Java – overview, resources, visual-j, gamelan, HTML – Q & A, Guru, DTHML, HTML-4, style, Plugins – real player, shockwave, acrobat, directory, Editors – visuals page, reviews, netobjects, HTML edit, dreamweaver, Javascript – scriptbuilder, webcoder, visual javascript, authoring,

At the end of the course, students will be able to work in the Information Technology department of any establishment, both private and public sector, including institutions.
